A pleasant historic town, Kranj is perched on a rocky plateau just above the confluence of two mountain rivers, namely the Sava and Kokra rivers. In the old city centre, the buildings are arranged around a rectangular square featuring a fountain, a Town Hall as well as a parish church of St Canzian, and opposite all these town sights there is the oldest restaurant in Kranj called Stari Mayr (the Old Mayr).
